The Red River Rivalry is back at the Cotton Bowl this year after being played at Jerry’s World for some time. That means that you can make your way to downtown Dallas and have a much more eventful, all-around stay. No offense to the music and bar scene in Arlington, but it just doesn’t compare to what you get in the area around the Cotton Bowl.
Plus, the traditional county fair vibe around the stadium is going to bring a ton of memories for many of those people who attended the Red River Rivalry to see Adrian Patterson, Vince Young, or even Chris Simms play in this game.

Can Arch Manning Rise to the Occasion?
This is going to be THE storyline heading into the game, at least on a national level. OU fans are probably walking into the game thinking they’re in line for another “confirmation win” like when they beat Michigan. If that means that they’re going to bury Arch Manning’s career, so be it! Truly, the worst thing that could happen to hype behind the game is having Texas lose to Florida. It doesn’t seem likely, but you just never know. Arch has been all over the map so far.
Oklahoma, for its part, shouldn’t overlook the Longhorns. That seems like a bit of a dumb thing to say, but time and time again in College Football, we see it. A team that’s clearly better than their opponent, but for whatever reason just didn’t show up to play a particular week. Thinking that they could just walk over Texas like it was nothing. Sure, Arch has struggled, but that has overshadowed the fact that the Texas defense was solid against Ohio State and played okay against the rest of the opponents that were obviously lower quality. Arch Manning’s gonna be in the spotlight, but so is Michael Hawkins Jr. He may find himself on the biggest stage of his career, while Arch could be coming in more relaxed. That added pressure on OUs’ single caller could even up the playing field.
Knowing Your Way Around the Cotton Bowl
This is a massive venue that guarantees great views of the action on the field pretty much from wherever you’re sitting. The one thing that we’d say about the Cotton Bowl is that you should be afraid to sit in the nosebleeds! Maybe that’s not exactly what you want, but the idea we’re trying to get at is that you can have great views of the field from the upper levels where you’re likely to find some good deals on tickets to this game.
Final Tips to Get Red River Rivalry Tickets
We’ve noticed that the system might not provide the best deals on tickets right off the bat! Other than not being afraid to sit above some of the features in the Dallas skyline, also don’t be scared to spend some time searching for good spots in the system. If you give it some time, there’s a chance that you’ll be able to find that diamond in the rough. Don’t always go for what the system is directly suggesting! Find your tickets today and head to the Red River Rivalry.
